Newport, Rhode Island Travel Guide

Updated: May 11, 2023

Pack your preppy clothes, pearls, designer shoes, and handbags and head to Newport, Rhode Island. Newport is filled with history, outstanding shopping, beautiful lodging, phenomenal waterfront views, superb restaurants, fun walking trails and more! When visiting Newport you step foot into a preppy paradise!

Newport, Rhode Island has fabulous dining options. See below for my top three favorite Newport restaurants!

Pasta Beach - located on Bellevue Avenue, is a chic, spectacular, tasty Italian restaurant. Pasta Beach is an exquisite place to eat from its gorgeous bar, fun wallpaper, classy seating to its delicious cocktails and food. I enjoy the bruschetta, kale salad, penne all'arrabbiata as well as the margherita pizza.

The Reef - located dockside in Newport Harbor has an extraordinary ocean view. I enjoy dining at The Reef for lunch to take in all of the activity on the water. The restaurant has delicious daily specials, appetizers, main courses, and cocktails. The service is phenomenal and drinks and meals arrive to the table quickly.

The Lawn at Castle Hill Inn - is a luxurious, upscale and upbeat dining establishment with breathtaking water views. I highly recommend having lunch at The Lawn. Once you have finished your meal, head to the front lawn, order a cocktail and sit on the Adirondack chairs to watch the sailboats and enjoy the scenic view. Before you leave, remember to walk to the bottom left of the lawn to view the Castle Hill Lighthouse.

Cliff Walk - Hike the picturesque three and a half mile cliff walk. Take in the nature-filled and historic views of the water, greenery, mansions, and more!

International Tennis Hall of Fame - Tour the museum exhibits to learn about the history of tennis as well as see the grass tennis courts.

Newport Mansions - Explore the beautiful, elegant, historic and luxurious Newport Mansions. The Preservation Society of Newport County does a phenomenal job maintaining the mansions. I highly recommend walking around the mansions and the corresponding lawns to learn about its history.

Stroll Bowen's Wharf and Downtown Newport - If you are looking for an upbeat, fun and lively place to walk, look no further than Bowen's Wharf and downtown Newport. During your stroll stop in the boutiques, coffee shops, ice cream parlors and more!

Happy Traveling!

XOXO,

Katy
