Updated: May 11, 2023

New Hope, Pennsylvania is a quaint, hip, upbeat town to visit! Downtown New Hope is full of beautiful boutiques, art galleries, outstanding restaurants, wine bars, phenomenal river views, gorgeous walking paths, extraordinary shows and has a popular night life scene! New Hope, Pennsylvania is the perfect spot to visit with your family and/or friends for a fun vacation or weekend getaway.

New Hope, Pennsylvania is located forty-five minutes outside of Philadelphia and an hour and a half from New York City. New Hope is full of charm as well as hidden gems like Pierre's Chocolate and C'est La Vie French Bakery. Pierre's Chocolate is a four minute drive from downtown New Hope - it is a family owned and operated chocolate shop. Pierre's makes delicious handmade chocolates that you and your family/friends will love! C'est La Vie, a French Bakery, is a tucked away in downtown New Hope complimented by a spectacular view of the Delaware River. C'est La Vie has great croissants and breakfast pastries and other sweet treats.

When planning your trip to New Hope, I suggest staying at the River House Odette's or The Logan Inn. These luxury hotels have first class service. Odette's is located within walking distance to downtown. Odette's elegance and its beautiful river views also make it a popular venue for weddings and other gatherings. The Logan Inn is situated in the heart of downtown New Hope. The historic and contemporary hotel rooms fully encompass the feel of New Hope.

New Hope is hopping with fabulous restaurants from elegant to casual dining. Below are some of the best restaurants in downtown New Hope.

Italian Cucina - situated on Stockton Avenue is a sophisticated and cozy dinner restaurant. I enjoy the salads as well as the homemade gnocchi dish. Remember to bring your favorite bottle of wine as Italian Cucina is BYOB.

Karla's Restaurant - on West Mechanic Street is an upbeat and lively restaurant. I look forward to weekend brunches at Karla's as the food is delicious and the environment and staff are delightful.

Logan Inn - located in the heart of downtown New Hope is an upscale dining venue with phenomenal cocktails and food. The recently renovated Logan Inn has both indoor and outdoor dining as well as two bars. The Logan Inn is the perfect place to enjoy a meal and a cocktail under their twinkle lights.

Martine's RiverHouse - is an historic and quaint restaurant which serves delicious food and drinks as well as has a spectacular river front view. I highly recommend dining at Martine's during the warmer months to enjoy the outdoor waterfront dining experience.

Nektar Wine Bar - is the perfect location for a friend's night out as Nektar has great wine and whisky sample flights as well as an energetic atmosphere! Nektar serves food tapas style which is fun to try a variety of dishes.

River House at Odette's - located within walking distance of downtown New Hope is a chic, warm and welcoming restaurant. Odette's has outstanding dinner and brunch menus. I highly recommend Odette's for a family meal, date night, brunch with friends or a celebratory event!

Soulberry Natural Food Market - is a health food store with a juice bar, wood fire pizza oven, salad and prepared food bar. Soulberry Natural Food Market has amazing nutritious food with a large selection of vegan and gluten free options. This natural market is the perfect location for a grab-and-go lunch or dinner.

The Landing - situated riverside is a joyful lunch and/or dinner restaurant. The cheerful environment, twinkle lights as well as its outstanding drinks and food guarantee a fun night out on the town!

The Playhouse Deck - located along the river has good food, extraordinary views and a fun atmosphere. In addition to dining at The Playhouse Deck, I recommend having a drink during the afternoon or at sunset to enjoy their outdoor riverside Adirondack chairs.

Wild Ginger III - is an outstanding sushi restaurant, just a four minute drive from downtown New Hope. Wild Ginger serves delicious teriyaki, tempura, noodles, soup as well as sushi and is my favorite sushi in Bucks County, Pennsylvania.

In addition to New Hope's amazing restaurants, it has a great day and night scene.

THINGS TO DO DURING THE DAY IN DOWNTOWN NEW HOPE:

Explore Ferry Market - Ferry Market is located across the street from The Logan Inn and has numerous dining options with both indoor and outdoor dining. While visiting the different vendors stop by Sciascia's macarons. After you try one of their handmade macarons, you will be leaving with a box filled with macarons for later!

Shopping - Downtown New Hope has unparalleled shopping from apparel, trinkets, pet stores, art galleries and more! While shopping you will be immersed in the hustle bustle of the quintessential and picturesque town.

Stroll The Delaware Canal Towpath - Bike, run or walk your dog on the Delaware Canal Towpath for gorgeous scenic views like the picture above. Escape into nature as you walk and take in the sights and history.

Walk the New Hope-Lambertville Bridge - A must see location before you leave is the Green New Hope-Lambertville Bridge. While journeying from New Hope, Pennsylvania to Lambertville, New Jersey look for the halfway point marked on the bridge sidewalk. Take a photo next to the Pennsylvania-New Jersey state line!

DOWNTOWN NEW HOPE NIGHT LIFE:

Downtown New Hope is filled with bars all within walking distance of one another;

thus, creating a great location for a New Hope Bar Crawl. The best bar in New Hope is Greenhouse. Greenhouse is a popular gathering location and does get crowded as the night progresses. The drinks are strong and the service is excellent!

After the bars, grab a bite to eat. The best late night snack in New Hope is Spatola's Pizza and Family Restaurant (which closes at 10:00 PM) as well as the infamous Wawa (which is open 24/7). Please note, Wawa is not downtown, but is a three minute Uber ride away!

New Hope, Pennsylvania is the perfect day trip or weekend getaway to enjoy the serene river views, dine at outstanding restaurants, take in a show, stroll the beautiful Delaware Canal Towpath, and make memories to last a lifetime!

While you are visiting New Hope, Pennsylvania make sure to allow time to tour the surrounding areas, such as Washington Crossing, Peddlers Village, Doylestown, Lambertville, Princeton and more!

Happy Traveling!
