How to Host The Perfect Outdoor Movie Night

During the summer there is nothing I look forward to more than an outdoor movie night with a warm fire pit, s'mores and giant outdoor games all while spending time with the great company of friends and family. The outdoor movie night is a fun activity to enjoy time in nature, unwind and relax at the end of a summer day.

Hosting an outdoor movie night can be for a variety of occasions: a fun get together, birthday party, dinner party, wine tasting and more! The options are endless. When I host a get together I place the movie screen in front of my outdoor sectional seating area which also has a fire pit. It is always a blast to make s'mores while watching a movie. For birthday parties I enjoy setting up a fun popcorn bar by the movie screen for guests to help themselves. You can purchase cute birthday balloons to place on the sides of the giant inflatable movie screen as decorative pieces. My favorite movie night occasion is in combination with a dinner party. I place a green turf on the patio and use two fold up white tables without extending the table legs as my tabletop. I set the table with a nice tablecloth, napkins, dishes, silverware, flowers, candles and glasses to create a beautiful tablescape. After hosting a dinner and outdoor movie night, your guests will be asking to come over to your house weekly for this spectacular occasion! Another favorite movie night is to pair it with a wine tasting. Have each guest bring a bottle of his or her favorite wine wrapped in paper to hide the bottle's label. Try each wine and vote on which is the best wine based on different category ratings listed on a score card distributed to each guest. You and your guests are guaranteed to have a great time!

In addition to movie night by the warm fire pit, I always bring out my giant outdoor game collection. The game collection includes giant connect four, giant Jenga, giant checkers as well as golf beer pong. Your guest will enjoy playing larger than life games while watching the movie! I love to see everyone join in and the competition rise!

Happy Hosting!

XOXO,

Katy
