Breakwater - overlooking the Stonington Harbor, is the perfect restaurant for dinner as there are breathtaking sunset views, outstanding specialty cocktails and great food. I highly recommend arriving early, grabbing a drink at the bar and enjoying the drink and waterviews at an outdoor table. The views are stunning and you can enjoy watching the boats and all the activity happening in the harbor.
Dog Watch Cafe - has both waterfront dining as well as a restaurant which sits further back from the water with fun lawn games and live music during the summer. The waterfront seating overlooks the Stonington Harbor and Dodson's Boatyard. Dog Watch Cafe is a casual dining venue.
BEST THINGS TO DO IN STONINGTON, CT:
Beach - Spend the day at du Bois Beach which is located on the far side of Stonington Borough. At the end of the beach day, watch the sunset with your toes in the sand at the water's edge.
Lighthouse - Explore Stonington Lighthouse which was built with stunning stones and overlooks the Atlantic Ocean. The lighthouse was built in 1840 and no longer operates, but is open for visitors to tour.
Shop - Start your shopping spree by stopping into Indulge Coffee and Sandwich Co. for a coffee and light bite to eat. Afterwards pop into the various shops and boutiques from an antique shop to a pet store and bakery to clothing shops.
Stonington Vineyards - I recommend taking a short trip from Stonington Borough to Stonington Vineyards to spend the day in nature with a glass of wine in hand. The vineyard offers daily wine tastings and the staff is incredible friendly and upbeat which truly adds to the experience!
Walk - Stroll the beautiful streets of Stonington to see the historic buildings, two canons from the War of 1812, shops, church, library, and homes.
